Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your gift received on March 30, 2010 and welcome to PETAl
We’re so glad that you have joined us in the important fight to protect animals from cruelty and abuse.
Animals certainly need your voice and support.

Your membership in PETA not only expresses your commitment to saving animals but also provides
the moral and financial support that we need to do grueling investigative work in laboratories and other
hideous places where animals suffer out of sight … bring animal abusers to court … persuade companies to
stop testing on animals-in short, do whatever we can to stop cruelty to animals.

What You’ll Receive as a PETA Member

To help you tum your compassion into action, I have enclosed a copy of PETA’s Animal Times
magazine. You will receive Animal Times for the next year so that you can be kept up-to-date on how you can
help further vital campaigns to protect animals. You’ll also read great new recipes and heart-warming stories
about how animals enrich our lives. I’ve also included a copy of PETA’s “Vegetarian Starter Kit.” Going
vegetarian (or even better, vegan!) is the very best (and pretty easy) way to help animals, the Earth, and
actually improve your health and vitality.

PETA offers lots of other educational materials, from fact sheets on specific areas of abuse that may
interest you to video footage to show friends and colleagues of undercover investigations of fur farms,
slaughterhouses, circuses, animal shelters, and laboratories. I’ve enclosed a leaflet “Animal Rights” as an
example. Many of these great educational tools are free or, if you order large quantities, cost only a nominal
fee to cover shipping. You can order them online at PETA.org or by contacting PETA’s Literature
Department. We urge you to do just that.

How to Contact Us

By Telephone: PETA offers telephone updates regarding actions you can take for animals, like
joining letter-writing campaigns or participating in demonstrations. To receive these telephone updates, be
sure to give us your phone number. If you have general questions, PETA’s main number is 757-622-7382……

Canadian Funding Limited

January 22,2010

Dear Friends of The Fellowship,

I am filled with gratitude for you, and for the blessing you have bestowed upon Israel and
the Jewish people this past year through The Fellowship. Our work has been greatly enriched by
your commitment to rescue and care for needy Jews around the world.

With thanks to God, we have increased our aid through Isaiah 58 to thousands of elderly
Jews and needy children in the former Soviet Union, many whom would not be able to survive-
without this care.

In Israel, the economy remains troubled, unemployment grows, and severe cutbacks are
reducing what social services there are. The poorest of the poor are falling through the cracks.
But through our Guardians of Israel ministry, destitute Jews living in more than 130 Israeli cities
and communities are getting assistance. Thanks to you, food coupons, clothing, shelter, grants to
pay heating bills, hearing aids, and so many more things that we consider the basic necessities of
every day life are blessings in their lives’

And as 2009 drew to a close, The Fellowship in Canada celebrated its ability to support the
prophetic aliyah and klitah of Jewish immigrants through On Wings of Eagles.

It is wonderful to recall our God-given victories throughout 2009. And yet, as the New Year
begins, we must also acknowledge that the struggle for Israel and the Jewish people, in which we
are so deeply engaged, is far from completed.

That is why today, I am praying with all my heart that you will renew your support for those
in desperate need as soon as you can.

I worry for people like Hadassah. In her sixties, physically disabled, and suffering chronic
pain, Hadassah shares her tiny Israeli apartment with her developmentally disabled son. I know
she pinches pennies to survive on government assistance. But it is not enough.

With a major portion of her fixed income going toward the cost of transportation to medical
appointments, Hadassah is forced to make unthinkable choices every day. Choosing between
properly feeding herself and the son she dearly loves, or buying the medication she needs so she

can continue to care for him. She does
not have enough to do both. So Hadassah
and her son live with hunger that you and
I would have difficulty imagining.

Because of your caring support through
Guardians of Israel, Hadassah and her son
have felt these blessings, and thank you that
they’re no longer forced to make a choice.
“I bless all of your Fellowship donors,”
Hadassah told one of our workers. “I wish
you every good thing that I can think of
Thank you for making my transportation and medical treatments possible, as well as helping us
have enough food on our table.”

In the former Soviet Union, through our Isaiah 58 ministry, you can help reach elderly Jews
who are facing a cruel and unforgiving winter. They need food, shelter, and warmth. They are living
on pensions of just $15 or $25 a month, yet inflation skyrockets. And, now, unavoidable cutbacks
to one of our partners in the FSU threaten to leave 60,000 elderly Russian Jews without care.

With God’s help, we will not leave these sons and daughters of Abraham without the means
to survive. Indeed, with God’s help, you and I will always remember them …

“Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter
- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”
(Isaiah 58:7).

And now there is one more accomplishment you can make possible. Our On Wings of Eagles
ministry helps needy Jews in making aliyah (immigrating to Israel). When they realize their dream
of escaping anti-Semitism and poverty by coming to their biblical homeland, On Wings of Eagles
provides them with resettlement assistance (klitah) to help them become full, productive citizens.
And thus, through this ministry, you can participate in fulfilling biblical prophecy that promises
to gather the Jewish exiles ”from the four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11: 12).

Today I pray that you will continue to bless Israel and Jewish people in need by supporting our
ministries of compassion. Please remove the attached 2010 Ministry Partner card and keep it with
you as a constant reminder that we can accomplish much good by praying and working together!

With prayers for shalom, peace,
Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein
Chairman
P.S. “The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.”
(Proverbs 11 :25). I encourage you to send your most generous gift. Thank you.

Canadian Funding Corp.

Dear Friends of The Fellowship,

There are many reasons why I regularly express my gratitude to God for your partnership
with The Fellowship–and why I am also praying today for your participation and steadfast
support of our newest charitable program in Canada; On Wings of Eagles. IFCJ Canada officially
launched On Wings of Eagles this past November. And since then, more than 650 Jews have
already benefited from your commitment to this prophetic ministry.

Rosa, a 27-year-old Jewish immigrant from Krasnodar, Russia, recently made her aliyah
to Israel through the help of a Wings-sponsored Freedom Flight. Today, she is now benefiting
from our klitah, or resettlement, program.

All of this was made possible by the contributions of caring On Wings of Eagles
ministry partners!

Rosa also serves to illustrate why I pray fervently for your ongoing support of our Wings
outreach. It is because I fear for the safety of Jews still in the former Soviet Union and other
distressed lands whose lives are darkened by the terrible specter of rising anti-Semitism.

This was the case for Rosa. As she says, “Our family paid a price for being Jewish. My
great-grandfather was sent to the Gulag [the dreaded Soviet slave labor camps] because he
was a Jew. From then on, my family made a conscious decision to keep our Judaism a secret.
But what can you do? The regime knows who is Jewish.”

Rosa’s grandfather was discriminated against for being a Jew. “He was an engineer on
a team that created a reservoir. Everyone other than my grandfather was awarded a special
prize for their work. But not him. That’s just the way it was in the Soviet Union. Religion was
outlawed, and Jews were persecuted.”

The fear of anti-Semitism also carried over into the next generation. “My father was going
to be named David in honor of his grandfather. But his parents didn’t want to cause him any
unnecessary grief and ‘brand’ him with a Jewish name; so they called him Yuri.”

Even Rosa felt the fear of being a Jew in Russia. “Our family did its best to hide our
Judaism, although behind closed doors we never turned our backs on it. But it was this secrecy

and fear that made me want to live in Israel. I knew there was a Jewish homeland where we
wouldn’t have to change our names or hide our faith. That seemed like the ultimate freedom.”

And now, thanks to friends like you, Rosa is experiencing this freedom in her Jewish
homeland. She is living at the Beit Canada absorption center, and says, “I already know how
to read and write Hebrew.”

She is deeply grateful to Fellowship supporters for her new life. “It’s great to know
that caring Canadians are supporting the immigration of Jews to Israel. I’m grateful to The
Fellowship and its donors for making this possible.”

Bringing Rosa from Russian anti-Semitism to freedom in Israel is certainly a victory of
one among many who are still in need. Now let us press forward to win many more victories
by rescuing more needy Jews from the former Soviet Union and places like Ethiopia, South
America, Arab lands such as Yemen and Iran, and even Europe. All are places where Jewish
people are living in hardship and danger.

Indeed, the world situation today is so volatile I believe we must do all we can, while we
can, to rescue Jewish exiles ”from the four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11: 12), and bring them
home on the shoulders of Gentiles.

We pray world conditions will not fan the flames of anti-Semitism-but the future is in
God’s hands. Our calling is not political speculation, but obedience to the Bible’s prophetic
mandate: “1 will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring
your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders” (Isaiah 49:22).

Lifting Jews out of danger and fulfilling Bible prophecy are two powerful reasons I invite
you to participate in On Wings of Eagles by sharing a generous gift with The Fellowship for the
aliyah and klitah of more Jewish exiles like Rosa.

God willing, we can use each day and hour we have to help bring more needy Jews home
to Israel. Please send your contribution today for On Wings of Eagles, and thank you for helping
once more with this sacred, prophetic calling.

With prayers for shalom, peace,

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein
Chairman

PS

I am honored to ask for your participation in the rescue of needy Jews as we help answer
this prayer of Israel’s exiles: “Save us, 0 LORD our God, and gather us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name” (Psalm 106:47). Please be generous in your
response, for their sake! God bless you.

Dear Friend,

Recently, you received a letter from Paula Ethier, a remarkable woman who overcame great
obstacles to survive breast cancer.

Paula had a decidedly different breast cancer experience than her mother, who died from
the disease when Paula was only 13 years old. Paula’s mother endured her breast cancer journey
alone, without the support and treatment options that were available to her daughter 25 years
later.

Paula’s life was directly impacted by the generosity of people like you, who helped to fund
research breakthroughs, public awareness campaigns and support programs through the
Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

It’s still early, but because it’s so important, I felt I needed to write to you. I’m hoping
you’ll take a moment now to renew your support for the Foundation, to help us reach out to
women like Paula, whose lives have been changed forever by breast cancer.

Your 2010 donation today will also fund the most promising research that will help us
better understand and treat breast cancer.

Breast cancer is a complex disease. Understanding the environmental, lifestyle and genetic
links to breast cancer can impact screening techniques, treatment practices, and lifestyle choice
that will lead to reducing the risk.

Here are just two examples of the impact we are making thanks to your support.

In Ontario, the Foundation has funded research by Dr. Mark Clemons, who completed the
world’s first study that compared original breast cancer tumours with tumours later found
elsewhere in the body. He found that, based on the biopsy of the second tumour, one in five
of the women needed a significant change in their treatment.

In some cases, this was a change in drug treatment, and in others, the biopsy showed the
woman did not actually have an advanced cancer, but a non-cancerous condition. The findings
of this study will help doctors deliver the right treatment to the right patient at the right time,
and avoid unnecessary treatments and distress.

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

Charitable Registration No. 12799 3608 RR0001

Also in Ontario, a Foundation-funded research team led by Dr. Jean-Philippe Pignol
developed permanent breast seed implant brachytherapy, which is a one-hour, one-time
procedure that makes it possible for eligible women to receive radiation therapy without
having to go for treatment every day for five weeks or more. It also has far fewer side effects.
The Foundation is currently funding Dr. Pignol to find out how best to train other doctors in
using this new technique, so it can be made available to patients across Ontario and around
the world.

By renewing your support this year, you are investing in research and community health
initiatives with the greatest potential to improve and save the lives of those who have been
touched by breast cancer, as well as those women at risk of developing the disease.

More than 22,700 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Sadly,
on average that’s about 437 women every week! An estimated 5,400 women will die from
breast cancer in Canada this year.

But the rates of survival can continue to improve, with your support. The number of
women who have died from breast cancer has fallen by more than 30% since the mid-80’s,
and is currently stabilized at the lowest it has been since 1950. About two-thirds of women
diagnosed with breast cancer this year will live through it.

These improvements in survival rates are a result of the programs that your donations help
to fund – better screening and treatments arising from research discoveries and greater public
awareness.

Please help maintain the exciting momentum in creating a future without breast cancer
being led by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Please renew your support for 2010 today!

Sincerely,

Sandra Palmaro
CEO, Ontario Region

On behalf of the volunteers and staff at the Canadian Cancer Society, please accept my sincere thanks
for renewing your support in 2010 with your generous gift.

With loyal friends like you by our side, we look forward to another year of groundbreaking cancer
research that will help save lives. Even as I write this letter, Society-funded researchers across the
province are working toward new strategies for prevention, more effective screening methods and better
cancer therapies.

For example, a clinical trial led by Dr. Derek Jonker in Ottawa pinpointed the specific group of patients
with advanced colorectal cancer who are most likely to benefit from a new cancer drug – cetuximab. The
findings mean that in the future these patients, who will benefit most because they carry a certain gene,
can be targeted for treatment, sparing those who will not benefit.

Your most recent donation will also help the Society reach out to friends, family and loved ones who have
been touched by the disease. Thanks to you, we can provide the credible information, peer support and
services they so urgently need.

Thank you again for your renewed support. Your ongoing commitment will help bring us closer to a world
where no Canadian fears cancer.

Gratefully yours,
Rick Perciante
Acting Chief Executive Officer
Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division

P.S. Should you have any questions about your recent gift please don’t hesitate to call us toll-free at 1
be pleased to answer your questions.
